READ THIS BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT
It contains steps you must follow and skills you must master
in order to learn AutoCAD LT using this training material.
- Make sure your computer meets the
minimum system requirements: Your system
does not need to be connected to the Internet in order for you to use
this training. Your computer
must also have AutoCAD LT 2006 installed and working.
- Bookmark the page, or make it a favorite,
to make it easy to get back to the training material.
- Choose the Tutorial you want to follow.
- Open AutoCAD LT 2006 without closing your browser.
- Hold down the ALT key on your keyboard and tap
the TAB key to switch back and forth between AutoCAD LT and the
tutorial.
- Follow the steps in each Tutorial in order to
master AutoCAD LT tools and features. If you are new to AutoCAD LT, do the
tutorials in order. If you are a more experienced user you can do the
tutorials in any order.
- In some tutorials you will see short, silent animations that play by themselves.
- The Bonus Overview Animations that come with this training product are designed to review sets of tools and commands people use frequently. Important: Overview animations reference AutoCAD but the tools they cover are valid for AutoCAD LT as well. AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT share 95% of the same commands.
- To view Overview Animations, just select them from the menu. If this does not work for
you, you can right-click on any link to an animation file and choose Open
in New Window.
- In most tutorials you will see links to .dwg and .exe
files. Detailed instructions for working with these files appear
below.
Simple Steps for Working with Source Files
Most projects require you to open drawing files. To open a drawing file:
- Right-click on links to .dwg files.
- Choose Save Target As or Save Link Target As to save the file to a folder on your local hard disk.
- In AutoCAD, from the File menu choose Open to open the file. This will let you edit and save
the file as required.
Some projects require that you work with multiple files
and require that those files be in the same folder
on your hard disk. We place those files in self-extracting executable .exe
files. To unpack these files:
- Right-click on the .exe file link.
- Choose Open.
- Choose Open again.
- Choose Browse and specify the folder in which the
extracted source files should be placed.
- Choose Unzip to unpack the files to that location.
If you encounter difficulty opening drawings, unpacking
source files or following the steps
in any tutorial, we hope you will contact us via email at opencad2@yahoo.com.
